Top 10 Pre-Baby Date Night Ideas in South Florida For Expecting Mamas

Your baby bump is growing and amid the hustle and bustle of nursery prep, you’re looking for a few ways to spend quality time with your husband and savor these last couple of months before baby arrives. Maybe it’s even time to try something new! Here are a few ideas for expectant mamas looking for pre-baby night out (or in) date night ideas in South Florida!

Couples Massage

A South Florida couples massage is a great date night way to unwind and help ease those aches and pains of pregnancy. My niece is a massage therapist and I called on her more than once to help me! Moms-to-be will appreciate the tension relief in a tired body, and dads will surely enjoy it as well!

Get a Sweet Treat

When I was pregnant with my first baby, milkshakes were my thing! I drank far too many, haha. Whether you’re craving anything in particular or could just use a treat, make a date night out of a trip to the ice cream store! It’s hot in South Florida, so there is always an excuse to cool down with an icecream!

My favorite ice cream shops are:

Whit’s Frozen Custard (you WON’T be disappointed!)

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice

Signature Sweet’s (they have my favorite cookies n’ cream icecream!)

Kilwin’s

Take a Stroll on a Beach

There are few things more romantic than a night walk on a South Florida beach, and living where we do, there’s always one nearby. Slip on your flip-flops, maybe pack a light picnic, and head on out to one of our local sandy beaches.

Sunset Picnic

Speaking of date night picnics, there’s nothing better than sitting outside, watching the night stars come to life overhead as the South Florida sunsets. Picnics are sweet and cozy. And enjoying one while watching the sunset is a perfectly romantic thing to do on a date night. A great spot for this would be Shepard’s Park in Stuart, FL.

See A Live Show

If you’re local to Stuart, then you will know about the Lyric Theatre. It’s located right in our downtown and it maintains its old historical design. A live performance is a fabulous excuse for a date night out. Check out their website for their up-and-coming shows!

At-Home Date Night Ideas in South Florida

South Florida Movie Night - At Home or a Drive-In Date Night

Movie nights are a classic date night: sitting in a dark theater, enjoying popcorn or candy, turning off your brains while you watch a great story unfold. Are you watching your budget or want to be extra cozy? Have a movie night at home! Put your phones away, make some popcorn, and curl up under a cozy blanket together.

My all-time favorite movies to watch are Little Women, The Princess Bride and City Slickers. What’s your favorite movie?

Cook Dinner Together

Grab a couple of steaks and fire up the grill! Cooking together, is a fun way to work as a team. Put on some music, eat on your porch beneath the South Florida stars, and enjoy being present in the kitchen together.

Take a Trip Down Your Relationship Memory Lane

Do you know that box of memories you have or the photo album collecting dust somewhere? Maybe a wedding video lying in wait on a hard drive? Now is a great time to take a moment and relive some of your favorite memories throughout your marriage. You can get excited about the stories you can’t wait to share with your children one day!

Take a Class

I think it would be so fun to learn something new together. What a great way to bond and just do something that is different than the norm. For example, you could try a pottery class or even a cooking class. Wouldn’t that be so much fun?!

Here are a few places in the Treasure Coast area to take a class:

Stuart Ceramics - make pottery together

Sur La Table - learn to cook a gourmet meal

Hobe Sound Fine Art League - take a painting class
