Not only am I a mom to two rambunctious boys, but as a Jupiter family photographer and it’s my job is to make this fun for the whole family.
How I Make Photo Sessions Fun For Kids
I tend to avoid the cookie-cutter approach when it comes to photographing families. Most of the images I capture at sessions are action shots prompted and playful to keep the kids engaged. Having sessions that are “child-led” are key. It’s never ok to force a child to behave a certain way if they are having an off day or is fearful of the camera. Incorporating play into the sessions is so important to me!
My goal at sessions isn’t to keep the kiddos still. If there’s one thing that I have learned about photographing families it’s this: you must work fast! Kids are ACTIVE. And it’s my job to keep up with them! My goal is to keep those kiddos engaged, and happy. My sessions are usually an hour long. But it’s very typical that sessions will only last 45 minutes. (And tbh, that’s all the time I really need!) A LOT can be captured in a span of 45 minutes. And the key to keeping the kiddos happy is to keep things moving and keep them engaged.
My #1 suggestion for parents. Being flexible and patient is so important. At sessions, I’m not going for cookie-cutter images. My goal is to capture the joy and connection that you have as a family.

01. Let's connect
The first step is to reach out to me—I’d love to hear about what you have in mind for your session! A non refundable retainer + a signed contract secures your date with me. The balance is due the day of your session. All of this can be done online!

02. Your session
Once we’re booked, I’ll send you my client wardrobe guide and my location guide—I’m here to take the guesswork out! Sessions are around 45 min to 1 hour long and we’ll capture the best smiles without the little ones growing too tired :)

03. the fun part
About 2 weeks after our session, you’ll receive an email from me letting you know that your images are ready to be viewed. Then, you’ll download and print your favorites. Psst… please print your beautiful photos!

01 | What if my kiddos won’t cooperate?
I totally understand! My sessions are child-led, and I’ve gotten lots of practice with my own two little ones a.k.a. I’ve got tricks in my bag :) Incorporating lots of play into my sessions is something that I do all the time!
02 | Do you travel?
My coverage for family photography spans most of South Florida. However, if you’re wanting to have your session outside of those limits, I can certainly do that. Let’s talk!
03 | How long will the session be?
Sessions are up to 1 hour long. This is the perfect time for me to get exactly what we need.
04 | Will I have print rights?
Yep! I include print rights with my collections, which means you can get them printed wherever you’d like
04 | What if it rains?
In case of inclement South Florida weather, we can easily reschedule for my next available date.

Hi, I’m Kristen! I’m a mama of two boys living in just 25 minutes south of Jupiter in Stuart, Florida and I have a passion for preserving family legacies through creating classic and timeless family portraits for those who wish time stood still.
I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years and served countless families along the way. I created my portrait sessions in such a way to show busy mamas that having a perfectly natural-looking family portrait in their home was not only obtainable but also a joyful experience!
