Jupiter Photographer | Riverbend Park | Samantha and Michael

This was the inspiration that my creative bones were craving for. It had been so long since I had photographed an engagement session. And it had been even longer since I had photographed clients in that beautiful, late winter golden lighting that melts itself around it’s subjects.

I was nervously excited at the start of this session. Even though the postpartum fog was beginning to lift, I felt like my ability to get creative had laid dormant for too long. Would I be able to shoot the way I envisioned? Aaron was on the brink of turning 4 months old and having two kids demanded a lot of mental energy from me. There was not nearly enough time for me to pour into my creativity side. In fact, creativity seemed to be a thing of the past.

But, I was so ready to shake up my creative juices. Get inspired. Maybe it was the new year, or the fact that the newborn fog was starting to lift. Whatever it was, I felt compelled to get out of the creative rut that I had felt myself slide into postpartum.

Meeting Samantha and Michael for the first time was a breath of fresh air. Not to mention, everything about our session seemed perfect. Perfect lighting. Perfect setting. Great wardrobe. I felt the familiar wheels of creativity starting to turn.

We went to a couple of different locations inside Riverbend Park and our last location happened to be my favorite. That old abandoned brick fireplace in the middle of nowhere made the perfect, unexpected backdrop for us. As the sun started to make it’s way behind the trees, I knew I had created images that I loved and knew my clients would love too.

Thanks to my wonderful clients, Samantha and Michael for helping me out of my creative rut and inspiring me to create work that excited me! They said that they had a blast at their session, but they really had no idea what their session had done for me and how much it truly inspired me!
